Danielle Byrne

Danielle Byrne is a Cape Town-based artist known for her vibrant abstract paintings, inspired by the extraordinary light, colour and landscapes of the city around her. Working in thin layers of acrylic on canvas, board and paper, she builds dreamlike worlds that capture the feeling of being somewhere rather than simply what it looks like. Her paintings begin with a colour, memory or moment and develop organically through expressive marks, layered textures and an intuitive process.
